Hiiiiii I saw that Childe and Zhongli have their banners together and I was wondering which of the two would be the better pick? You are the Chili expert, so there's no better person to ask c: I want both but I'm F2P so I can only get one.. *sigh* any advice is appreciated! I'm a newish player (started during Baizhu's banner), but I do want to do abyss one day. Thanks for reading and I hope I'm not bothering you
ah hello anon! i hope you're enjoying the game and you are correct; this is my area of expertise ohohoho
the only answer to your question: break out your wallet and get both pull whoever you like more
since you mentioned abyss, all characters are viable some more than others but childe and zhongli are both great for abyss runs and both are considered f2p friendly. if you really want my opinion, i say go for zhongli because childe is for sweaty gamers, whereas zhongli is mainly for people that like comfort but he does appeal to all crowds. they are night and day though when it comes to their roles:
zhongli - off-field support, easy gameplay, easy to build, low investment, good pick for many teams but is usually not the best option
childe - on-field dps, steeper learning curve, harder to build, higher investment, is only good for one team but that one team is arguably the best team in the game and childe will be your best option for that specific team (you can use him as your hydro in other teams but he will perform worse than others)
very long explanations under cut:
there really isn't much to say about zhongli. he is the best shielder in the game and the comfort he brings is valuable. unfortunately, he doesn't provide much outside of defensive utility, which kinda ties in with what i said with him usually not being the best pick for a lot of teams because once ppl learn to survive without his shield, they start to phase zhongli out of their teams for more offensive options. i used to do abyss clears for friends and whenever i felt like i needed more damage, zhongli would often be the first one to be swapped out. that being said, getting hit and flung around or just dying is considered a dps loss lmao so unless you're a pro-gamer with perfect dodges, zhongli will always hold some value. i always bring him on my personal account because he lets me turn my brain off lol
but ya, since zhongli doesn't offer much outside of defensive utility, i do think his pull value is heavily affected by your account and which other characters you might have. characters like baizhu, kokomi, kirara, diona, layla etc will all give him competition and even though they might not be superior defensive options, they offer other utility outside of survivability. he's still a good pull though! there's just many things to consider
childe is unfortunately a one-trick pony and is only good in one team. you are free to use him in other teams, but he is outclassed by the other hydros and requires more effort to learn. his one good team though is arguably the best team in the game and is referred to as international, consisting of childe, kazuha, xiangling, and bennett, and childe is the best hydro for this team. the team is regarded highly by low to mid spenders because a c0 childe can perform on par with many other teams consisting of five stars with constellations and is a great team for speedrunning abyss and has been the only team consistently in the top five of abyss teams for the past two years. a couple of reasons why the team is good: damage is split somewhat evenly between childe and xiangling and you buff both of them, which is unlike teams with xiao or eula where you only buff the main dps. the team has a good mix of front-loaded (childe burst) and consistent (childe melee and xiangling burst) damage, making rotations flexible and adaptable to whatever abyss decides to throw at you (ex: you can kill off a wave of enemies with childe's burst and then save xiangling's burst for another wave). although the team is primarily aoe focused, it still does good damage in single-target scenarios, which is great because most other teams usually are only good in one scenario. the team does have a steeper learning curve and has a bunch of nuances you need to get used to and if you hate xiangling for whatever reason, you will have a bad time, but there's a good reason why childe is the golden child of the speedrunning community
although childe is harder to play, his playstyle is a good gateway to understanding genshin's mechanics, if you're interested in that. also, his complicated kit does mean he has a few tricks up his sleeve that only childe can do and while most of them are situational, they do have their uses and does make him a surprisingly versatile character, despite the constricting cooldown
anyway, since childe is heavily tied to international, i've linked a good video below if you feel like watching to get a better understanding of his playstyle (it's a long video, but the basics section is the important part and it's not that bad and also i like the cute fanart lol). also, even though international is good, it is overkill and you don't need this much damage to clear abyss, so if that doesn't interest you, then maybe childe isn't best for you, but he's still a good pick. sorry that this is so long, but i hope my response helps and that it all makes sense!

Following Aether up the path toward the Dawn Winery, Kaeya couldn’t help wondering how the blonde had convinced his brother to allow use of the property for a game that involved people running about with little concern for their surroundings. It was well past nightfall as well, indicating Diluc would likely not be around, considering his usual nighttime activities. Aether’s power of persuasion was indeed formidable. Kaeya was not surprised to see Zhongli had also agreed to another round, the other man giving him a small nod of greeting as he, Eula, and Aether joined him. The fourth player was nowhere in sight, but Aether went inside for a moment and returned with Diluc, much to Kaeya’s surprise. Maybe Diluc’s stipulation for use of the winery grounds was that he would be a player and supervise the event.
“It seems we will be on the same team after all,” Kaeya commented to Zhongli as Aether instructed Diluc on the expectations of a hunter. “I hope you’ll do a bit better hiding than you did in Springvale, hm? You too Eula,” he added, nudging his fellow captain with his elbow. She rolled her eyes at him but gave him a small smirk of challenge. Zhongli also smiled and nodded. Kaeya observed the vineyard, noting the numerous barrels scattered among the grapevines as potential hiding places.
Aether had also come up with something new for this round, similar to the invisibility token but without the limited application. It would allow them to, for all intents and purposes, appear as one of the lanterns Diluc had around the winery. Kaeya was looking forward to testing that one out and was already considering potential hiding places, though as he glanced up at the sky he realized the illusionary lantern’s light would potentially give them away with how late it was.
Satisfied that Diluc was ready, Aether climbed into a good vantage point and signaled for the rebels to head into the field to hide. The trio split up, all heading in different directions. Kaeya rounded the manor, ignoring Moco and Hillie trying to catch his attention, though he made a mental note to see what they needed after the game. Activating the lantern token, Kaeya wished he had a mirror to see the effect as he scaled the side of the building and positioned himself in front of one of the lit windows to blend in with the lights from inside the manor. He realized almost immediately that if he had to hang here for the entire duration of the game, his fingers were going to cramp, but he carefully balanced on the window ledge anyway.
He heard Aether give the signal for Diluc to start the hunt and saw his brother making methodical checks of the low perimeter wall around the winery, verifying that each lantern was in fact a true lantern. He went right under Kaeya without noticing him, absorbed in his task. Neither Eula or Zhongli were in the area of the wall either, as Kaeya didn’t hear any announcements for them getting captured even when Diluc was out of sight. Diluc was back on this side of the building again, now checking with the sensor Aether had given him. It pinged under Kaeya and Diluc looked around in confusion.
“Is this thing broken?” he heard Diluc muttering, shaking the device once and trying it again, prompting another ping. Kaeya suppressed the urge to laugh as Diluc looked under the tables and around the barrels, never once looking up at the window or walls. A third ping with no discernable rebel made Diluc stuff the sensor in his pocket in annoyance and head out into the vineyard. Kaeya’s fingers were indeed starting to cramp now, but he stayed put. If Diluc never looked up, he’d never notice Kaeya.
Aether announced the arrival of the usual favor and Kaeya saw Diluc change directions out in the vineyard and go for it. A beam of light marked Kaeya seconds later and he swore under his breath, dropping from the window immediately and releasing the guise of a lantern in preparation to run. Of course his brother would target him specifically. Diluc rounded the corner of the building, victory in his eyes as he came toward Kaeya, who took off at a dead sprint, leaping the low stone wall into the vineyard.
“Kaeya, if you crush my grapes I will fucking kill you,” he heard Diluc holler after him, but he didn’t waste the breath on a reply, hurdling two rows and dashing up a third, the irritating light above his head still giving Diluc a clear view of where he was even if he wasn’t in direct line of sight. He hadn’t even stirred the leaves in his leaps, though it had been years since he’d gone jumping over grape vines. He and Diluc had used to chase crystal flies in the vineyard, competing to see who could catch the most. One flitted past Kaeya as he ran, a reminder of those long ago pastimes.
Kaeya glanced back over his shoulder and saw Diluc still chasing him, though he’d lost some ground by going around the first two rows of grapes rather than leaping over them as Kaeya had. With this bright beacon illuminating him, it was unlikely Diluc would leave him alone to search for the other two rebels. Kaeya caught a glimpse of them both up on the winery roof, looking down at him as he leapt over another row of grapes, neither in disguise at the moment while Diluc was so clearly focused on him. He clambered back over the low wall onto the winery’s patio area, eager for more level ground to sprint on. Diluc followed suit, though he veered the other way, clearly trying to circle the building and cut Kaeya off. Kaeya had always been faster than Diluc, but Diluc had learned some tricks to catch him in other ways, though they didn’t always work.
Kaeya realized Diluc’s current plan almost too late, seeing Diluc round the corner of the building ahead of him as he circled it himself. He quickly changed directions, nearly skidding and falling but barely managed to keep his balance. The pillar of light marking him thankfully dissipated and he leapt back over the wall into the vineyard, triggering the invisibility token Aether had given him. He ducked behind a barrel directly next to the low wall, crouched with his heart pounding in his ears, breathing hard from the exertion of his sprint. The token wore off quickly, as usual, but it had done its job. Diluc had lost track of him, if the muttered swearing from a few feet away was any indication.
Kaeya realized he wasn’t the only one who had noticed Zhongli and Eula on the roof as Diluc turned back to the winery and began to scale the building. He moved at a crouch, keeping the wall between him and Diluc until the building was between them instead, heading back toward his original hiding place. The capture notices for Zhongli and Eula were fairly close together, indicating the two hadn’t gotten far when Diluc joined them on the roof. Diluc was surveying the grounds from the roof now as Kaeya inched his way back up onto the window, lantern guise back in place. He knew the time limit was getting close, he just had to slip under Diluc’s radar for a little bit longer.
Diluc jumped from the roof on the same side of the building Kaeya was clinging to, glider wings spread. Kaeya realized Diluc had spotted him from the new vantage point and groaned inwardly at the thought of another round of sprinting through the vineyard, but prepared to drop as Diluc clambered onto the small deck railing that put him at nearly the same level as Kaeya’s window.
“Oh no you don’t,” Diluc growled as Kaeya dropped, and he took a flying leap from the railing, tackling Kaeya to the ground with such force that the wind was knocked out of both of them and Kaeya wouldn't have been surprised if he cracked a rib on impact with the ground. Kaeya wheezed as Diluc pinned him in place with a triumphant expression, trying to catch his breath. Aether joined them with a laugh, displaying the remaining time as less than ten seconds.
“That was a close round!” he announced. “Victory goes to the hunter!”
“You can let me up now” Kaeya grumbled, struggling for air with Diluc’s weight still mostly on his chest. Diluc stood and dusted himself off, not bothering to offer a hand to help Kaeya up, but at least Aether had the courtesy to do so. Zhongli and Eula joined the trio as Aether began to pass out the special coins he’d created for his game, though Kaeya had yet to discern any real purpose for them aside from potential bragging rights for having a lot of them.
“That was impressive,” Zhongli commented, though he was complimenting Kaeya, not Diluc’s victory. “I did not expect you to evade him for so long with the beacon marking you.”
“Neither did I,” Kaeya admitted with a pained laugh, wincing as he checked himself over for bruises. “Though I couldn’t help notice you two just watching instead of hiding.” Zhongli had the grace to look momentarily abashed, but Eula just shrugged.
“Your skilled evasion drew the hunter’s attention and I confess I was caught up watching the pair of you to the point of forgetting my own objective temporarily,” Zhongli stated. Kaeya chuckled.
“My ‘skilled evasion’ seems to have earned more ire than warranted, my ribs will be sore all week.” Diluc pointedly ignored the remark, thanking Aether for his time and heading into the vineyard to check for damage to his precious grapes, though Kaeya hadn’t really seen Eula or Zhongli go into the fields. Diluc wasn’t likely to take his word that he hadn’t done any damage himself in his frantic leaps to get away. He still didn’t understand what had prompted Diluc to accept Aether’s game being hosted here at all, but supposed it wasn’t really his place to ask, not any more.
Kaeya excused himself and headed back toward Mondstadt, fully intending to pay a visit to the cathedral for his sore ribs. If he was going to accept another invitation to Aether’s game in the future, he wanted to be able to run without wincing. Still, it had been kind of amusing to see Diluc tearing around after him, a nostalgic moment that let him forget the walls that lay between them now for a bit. It was worth a little pain for that brief return to happier times.

since there’re a lot of genshin characters you hate for their design, is there any character you hate because of the fandom?
i personally hate eula and raiden because of how majority of the fandom treat them, but especially eula because of how hyv advertise her as well. when her character was introduced, the first thing i thought is that she was solely made for fanservice purpose only, and turned out i wasn’t really far fetched (pls don’t come for me for this💀 i didn’t dig much about her character, i only know her from the quests).
and i’m glad that someone shares the same opinion as me about raiden and some other characters i dislike. i thought i was the only one that’s picky about this kind of thing lol, so when i read your thoughts about raiden, i was like “finally, someone that shares my hate!”
Honestly, most of the characters I hate greatly, have a kinda bad reputation for parts of the fandom. This list (from Mondstadt to Inazuma, because I basically hate all of Sumeru and I haven't played it) includes Diona, Eula, Ayaka, Keqing, Ei. I like Zhongli and Xiao a moderate amount, but they sorta have a bad rep too. Especially certain Xiao mains. Talking more about mains and characters below.
Diona's personality annoyed me, and I hate the fact that she's a kid selling alcohol but people use the excuse of her age not being confirmed to sexualize her. Diona mains made me wary, because I feared they were middle aged/older men who liked these younger looking characters way more than they should.
I was kinda iffy about Eula at first. But then I played her quest. AT FIRST, I was beginning to like her. But then she started to overdo the whole "vengeance" thing and that got on my nerves real bad. So she was out. Whenever I see Eula mains, I think "try hard."
Already explained why I dislike Ayaka and Ei. But some of those mains I met don't know how to take criticism for their favs.
Keqing is just boring. Her design is boring, her personality is boring. During the second Liyue lantern quest, I believe, we have to accompany here everywhere. Despite her having practically the whole quest, she was never once interesting. She was just ANOTHER one of those "works so hard" female characters, which genshin does way too much. I don't think I ever met a cool Keqing main. They were all so annoying, trying to kill my characters and thinking they're funny when they're not. Keqing mains I met all gave me the vibe of being an annoying guy, you know?
Most Zhongli mains are okay, but there's a small few that are just really young players (mostly girls) that will talk nonstop and don't know how to take social cues. Like, once one had a trauma dump and abruptly said they were looking for a bf when me and the other person in their world were just like "can you please come collect your reward from the boss? Please??"
There's two types of Xiao mains. The really chill Xiao mains, and the insane Xiao mains. And I do not mean insane in a good way, I mean it in the worst way possible. I was playing when Xiao first came out, and it was bad. I remember hearing stories about how certain players who didn't get Xiao would throw hissy fits when someone else had him. Going so far as to threaten other users and stuff. And if they did have him, they would be kinda rude during co-op battles.

Ah, I don't want this to get across the wrong way, and I love the female characters too but... Mihoyo please, add more dicks, I am in desperate need of more male characters. There's only like 11 or 12 males vs the 20 something without counting the other confirmed ones
I KNOW I tend to play male characters tbh, dunno why I did lumine this time around, kinda regret not doing aether. I always chose male playable characters in pokemon games and the like, I can remember loving playing male leads in games as a kid like Link or Kingdom Hearts. I just like to briefly step into the fantasy of being a guy? There's a lot of psychology that goes into why some girls do that but you get what I mean.
We need more bois... And after the Childe/Zhongli rerun I'm pretty sure the next 2 banners are eula and yanfei so we won't be getting new ones any time soon I guess :/ unless we get new 4 stars which would be cool too
Obviously I'm super hyped for Scaramouche and Dainsleif but also Baizhu should become playable eventually yeah? He's pretty neat I feel like we're all forgetting him... And Tohma, although we only have leaked designs but said designs are cool
But tbh I am disappointed bc like, of all the leaked characters from that leak a while back, they're all female except for 1 I think. I feel like they know they have a large female player base and should be introducing more male characters but obviously video game developers tend to be male, so they're gonna tend to make a lot of horny feeding female characters. Not that horny is bad... But I want horny men too lol
#lena's asks#also extra smol male characters when???#like diona/klee/qiqi#i know we get Scaramouche but thats not quite what i mean yknow

Lauraaa hi!! fjfj I watched the trailers you linked (sorry it took me a while, I wanted to watch them in peace and then let you know <3)
The first one was the eula one and it immediately made me think of yuri's performance in yoi (probably cause the music is a bit similar) but ahhh she's so cool!!!
The effects in the XD one were amazing! I'm actually curious to know his back story now. Poor guy looked like he suffering a lot :(
Kazuha is a romantic 😂 and beido!!! she!!!!
Zhongli was not what I was expecting. His voice that is, I actually thought he was a young teenager lol and finally the inazuma one. It's definitely my favourite. So cool oh my God. The effects all the characters, just everything in it!! It makes me wanna download the game so fast fjfjfj but ik if I do I'll just spend all my time on it instead of studying 😫 -yibobibo
aamna hi 🥺👉👈
i'm glad you liked them !! lmao, honestly i feel like zhongli has one of the best english voice actors? i quite like baal's, too.
xiao? yeah, he does suffer a lot. i'm going to look if i can find a video that explains his backstory well, i only know what we get from his story quest + what @jukstapose has told me (chai is a xiao lover first and a kazuha lover second). he's quite popular, too. a lot of people are waiting for his rerun, including me because i'd like to get him!
eula my beloved <3 i... haven't watched yoi, to be honest. though i agree, eula is amazing. i got her when she came out (on the first day) and she's been in my team ever since. she's quite strong, too! actually, she's the only one of my characters that is able to do over 100K dmg!! which is quite a lot. she's able to do way more than that but my eula isn't as strong as some others.
kazuha is a very interesting character, we don't know a whole lot about him right now? well, more than about some other characters but yeah.
beidou is a queen, she was the first character (besides noelle) that i got. even though she has taken the role as sub dps after eula came, instead of main dps which was her former role, she'll always have a special place in my heart.
aksksk inazuma is out and the banners for version 2.1 have already been announced 🤧
kokomi, the left one, is a new hydro catalyst character! she deals damage based on her max hp (burst) and atk (skill) from what we know. though this is subject to change because she, baal and sara are still in the beta for 2.1
baal, the one in the middle, is actually the electro archon aka the goddess of eternity (and electro). she's the one that rules over inazuma. i'm... so in love with her?? even though she's currently the villain? leakers say that her banner will be the first one of 2.1 and i want her really fucking badly? she's so interesting! she canceled exams after a kid gave her candies and hunts down vision bearers because "they're an enemy to eternity"? it's quite interesting.
sara is like.. idk a lot about her? she's an electro bow user, which only one other, fischl (whom i absolutely despise), is i think? i'm interested in finding out more about her because she's a vision bearer and also in charge of confiscating visions from other vision bearers? ( + leader of the shogun'a aka baal's army )
ohhh if you start playing, make sure you look at which server you're playing on!! you can choose which server your account will be on and then can, when you reach adventure rank 16, play with other players together if you want. though, they must be on the same server as you if you want to play with a friend.
i play on ps4, that's the only platform where you can't choose your server, (btw for every server you have a different account) which means i play on the european server. genshin is definitely worth playing !!

FINALLY I will have Albedo. I've been wanting him since he first came out but only started playing seriously at the tail end of his banner and couldn't get him. I have over 100 Fates saved and while I used my pity on Childe (purposefully because I love him too), I don't mind spending more on Albedo...
I like the double reruns. I think they should make double reruns a permanent feature or something like that. Like for the duration of an entire patch, instead of wasting one "main banner" on 1-2 reruns, I think there should be a rerun of an older character or an increased drop rate for someone in the standard pool, or something like that, in ADDITION to the two "new banners"? I haven't given much thought to this, though.
I think they need to start introducing 5*s that will become permanent in standard banner too. There's way too many limited characters (and way too many 5*s in comparison to 4*s). I feel like Yoimiya would've been great for this. I love Yoimiya a lot and her kit is fun but more important, I think she'd be a reliable and nice entry in the standard pool for newer players. I think going forward, they should start putting more characters in standard pool (that haven't been marketed as Limited/released already).
Generally, I think that MHY is introducing too many characters in general. I'm glad they did a lot of reruns these last few patches because I don't think it's a very sustainable model to be releasing so many characters in a short time-frame. I think if both standard and limited pools were larger and more balanced, it wouldn't be an issue. I don't really have any "proposed solutions" to this, though, that I can think of?
I've only played Honkai very, very briefly, but I think if they started making different kits based on costumes that could be equipped or something to that effect like the Battlesuits in Honkai. I tried to read about what battlesuits exactly were, and I can't figure out if they're completely different units (like you have 2 Kianas, each different Battlesuits) or simply equippable onto the base unit (you have 1 Kiana, but you can equip her with a different Battlesuit). Regardless, I think something like this would be interesting rather than MHY needing to make more and more characters and can focus on the story of Archon quests rather than rushing them out in order to put out new banners for new characters. I think it would also make the costumes costing around 30USD more worthwhile if they keep it that way (though I hope they don't, or change it so it can be bought with Primos too), but it would also be the only justified way to make the costumes a gacha system too.
I'm not really sure if that makes sense. Regardless I hope everyone who read through that and even those that didn't get whoever they want in the next banner, and remember that they'll all eventually come back! Good luck!!
- Suspicious Zhongli
suszhong, you do make a good point about the double banners and from the little information i've seen, i think they'll do that ONLY with rerun banners. as an example, itto is a new character, so he'll have his single banner alone with his new four star (gorou), but since albedo is a rerun character, he's rerunning with eula (also a rerunner).
i agree that they should put more characters in standard banner :(( i've been advocating for childe in standard banner for a while LOL i feel like enough ppl like him to warrant making him a permanent character, and you're totally right about yoimiya! i don't have her but from my friends' opinions, she seems like a much better amber which, no hate to amber, would definitely help ppl who like pyro archers but hate how awkwardly amber plays.
but i did want to say that i'm pretty sure the devs have said somewhere that genshin is SUPPOSED to play differently than honkai. honkai is turn-based, but genshin is open world, and that naturally lends itself to a lot of differences. if i'm being honest, i really love how genshin plays because i personally hate turn-based games (says, tempted to get star rail just for danheng and march 7th). i also don't think the devs would change the entire playstyle of the game this late in HAHAHA.
but yesssssssg ood luck to everyone! i'll have a heck of a time pulling for bedo the day he comes ;)

OMFG! Your damage!! Ughh pls share lol I think the highest I've hit so far and most recently (and I think it was by accident lol) was a little over 50k with Eula. LOL I think its because around that time, I increased her talents so its 6-5-8 atm. OH! I just checked Beidou's cons and I'm at C4 pfft I mean I want C6 but I didnt' realize she's at C4 —I just assumed I was like C2 lololol.
Oh, that reminds me, as you know, I've been tryna complete beidou. I did like 3 10-pulls and ... I got a gold star.. of which terrified me because I wasn't tryna get a gold star lol BUT it ended up being Jean lol I don't think you realize how happy I was when I saw that it was just Jean lol Which means I'm DEFINITELY saving up for Raiden like she may just complete me lol
also, I read your recent post about gaming/genshin community and thats so sucky I mean you're definitely right in cr/cd ratio (i'm by all means a newb but still). I think my Eula was like that too (like 1:4 ratio) but once I evened it out to at least 1:2.5, I think that's also why I was able to hit 50k. That reminds me of this user I found during co-op who had an obnoxious profile that, to me, almost low-key block them. It was something about using under lvl90 chara on domains and I was like ??? umm i understand that but like.... if you have a lvl 80 character that get crit 100k every other hit then why would lvls matter ? Idk it like really irked me because grinding for artifacts and ascension materials and even talent materials is time consuming and its a big turn off for other people just getting into and just enjoying the ride. idk it reminds of people that show off their artifacts and still ask if its good like... you know its good... so why did you ask???
OO yes I'll respond to some of this and then I'll share a bit not to flex bc it's not even a ~stellar~ build or anything yet but just to share on how I prioritize stats and stuff since I didn't fully comprehend all that until like....quite recently tbh.
C4 Beidou and a guaranteed Raiden seems great to me omg. Careful with your pulls from this point on cause a random low pity Ganyu/Zhongli/Yae could take away your guaranteed Raiden D:
Ugh people like that is why I don't do co op. Like that person's profile - aside from the fact that it's alienating towards newer players that won't have perfect teams or builds, they are just plain wrong. Artifacts/talents/team synergy/utilizing your reactions well is all way more important towards getting your damage off than raw character levels. It's always the people that are the most toxic that are also the most wrong. This is way Genshin was my gateway to quitting League, bc at least Genshin doesn't force me to play with these clowns LMAO
Like I'd love to optimize Itto and Childe more, but I spent a month prefarming Zhongli and once that was done I was thinking about how I also still needed an EM sands for Kazuha. It's neverending! Lmao
Although I must include a disclaimer - In that post I gave myself slightly too much credit and was misremembering my CR on Itto - it's 57% not 67% but I still stand by everything I said lmaoo.
And omg don't get me started on the "iS thIS gooD?" people with their artifacts that they know damn well are stellar.
Anyway, so my build advice. I'll put this behind a read more for the folks just scrolling
Since IK you have Eula, I'll showcase this.
I've spent far less resources farming for Eula than Itto and Childe so she's my biggest WIP of my main DPS. Just don't have the 4x pale flame, but I farmed Noblesse domain a lot for Bennett so I had all these bloodstained artifacts and threw this together. Her CR is far better with Serpent Spine but Itto is usually using it so I only switch it onto her situationally. But the phys damage from 2x bloodstained 2x pale flame and a snowtombed is wild. Her normals can hit for up to like 21k, and her bursts usually hit for about 180k. I feel like Eula wants CD > CR > Atk% > ER > ATK. Maybe some HP% since our girl has to get up close and personal and inevitably will take damage unless you have a cracked full HP built Zhongli
(Can’t get this image to full screen from desktop, may want to look from mobile if you wanna look close)
For Circlet, Goblet, Sands - if something has the main stat you want and at least two usable substats go for it and just use that til you get something better For flower and plume - If its got at least three usable substats just use that and wait for the 4x perfect starting stat ones later.
Or don't do any of this and level what you want and have fun. This is just how I do things loll. I'm always using less than perfect artifacts for the time being til the long grind for the "perfect" ones pays off.
#long post#sorry moots and other followers for these long exchanges#but i appreciate having an anon to go back and forth on these things with :D#genshin asks#lovely anons<3#sorry i just gave you SO MUCH to read though omg

Ok tumblr decided to erase half my ask so here we go again 😔
I kinda forgot about ei’s friends after her teaser dropped ngl 💀 you are so right that they should’ve been there, like how both Zhongli and Venti’s quests had a “let’s pay a visit to our dead or dying friends” arc /hj in hindsight I also wish there was one of those cool 2D PVs for Ei as well hhh it would be Epic to see her three friends like that!! Ig they thought it was covered by her teaser/demo or something? Since that had way more lore than usual, idk though. still hoping for a second quest about her hh
I’m kinda the opposite about lore digging but it’s probably just me lol, I tend to read lore in game only, but don’t have many of the artifacts/weapons that contain the lore I want to read. But disregarding that, I still want some of the worldbuilding to be put in like a story quest or something, since it would be interesting to see what other characters think about the stories in the artifacts and stuff (do different mondstadters have different opinions on their history? What do they think about the white knight or the gladiator? Also I wanna see Eula interacting with the noblesse oblige set. same with Liyue folk and all the Morax Legends lol. I digress tho)
Big same with the La Signora gripe. Shame on me ig but I didn’t read the crimson witch lore before I did the quest so the spoilers I saw didn’t mean much and there was no shock value during the big reveal in quest 💀 yeah I hope we’ll see or hear about her in Snezhnaya!! Her side of the story would be infinitely more interesting (pls not another artifact set tho-)
About Xiao, Ganyu, and Zhongli: this is why fix it fics exist I guess 😔 I’ve adopted an AO3 fic’s retelling as my version of canon (or at least something the traveler didn’t see)
Mm true it’s strange because I think he said thanked the traveler for being his companion while he was testing out his human life at the end of the archon quest (iirc) maybe it’s just because Liyue’s supposedly a big city so one new person doesn’t really matter to most people (fhdksd if something contradicts this, do tell) I think the fake death was still kinda necessary, at least for normal people to accept that Morax is Completely Gone so that the Qixing can get ultimate authority and total acceptance/respect (that npc who said Zhongli will always be in true control since he’s a god and the Qixing are mere mortals and stuff), but agree to disagree 😌 they’re all shady in some way in the end
I saw you are on genshin twt how is it 😔 (sadly I am on it too but I hate the timeline format because I keep missing posts) the amount of discourse of “whos bad, good, which problematic characters and ships need to be canceled”, and the amount of dissing that goes on there scares me
LITERALLY YOUR 2ND TO LAST PARAGRAPH that was what was missing from the archon quest. Where is my group effort guys?? I missed seeing the resistance… I hope the people speculating Kokomi gets a nice story quest are correct and that we’ll actually wrap up the loose resistance threads there… (also a lot of people are saying morally gray Kokomi? Is there any canon(derogatory) basis for that? I’m just curious because with the way things are going I feel like she’s going to be purely nice dhdkskf)
Im so sorry I think these just keep getting longer and longer aaa anyways, signing off! -mystic
noo i hate it when tumblr does that :((
(2.1 spoilers)
LMFAOOO maybe friendship is not magic after all ahaha but srsly, i agree w you i also want a 2nd quest for her !
ah that's fair enough if u don't have all the artifacts. and it would be easier if it was told to us through a quest of some sort. hmm i never thought about that 🤔 it's a shame that there's so much lore and the genshin universe is so beautifully worldbuilt but players will only notice if they personally read through the archives etc. and go out of their way :( hmm yeah maybe like a historical back-to-the-past type thing with the three clans and they all interact with the noblesse set? or even just diluc/eula/jean tbh
ah i read the lore for crimson before but i didn't remember it fully during the signora part so i had to read through it again after. the way it clicked in my head when it said "crimson witch of embers" and i was like ".....wait a minute....." AHAHA and it was only after that her lines during the fight like "don't call me a witch" or smth made me :'(((( the pale flame piece too 😭 sad hours
yeah at this point, the fanfiction writers should take over the genshin writing lol jk jk
mhm i guess the fake death would've been better and easier for closure ! (and woah u remember so much! i can't even remember that npc... it's been so long 😔 haha)
ah i think on genshintwt i'm usually more on the good side (? if u can call it that lmao) i do see quite a few discourse on ships, western vs. eastern fandoms and other yikes stuff but for genshin, it's mostly art that pops up on my timeline :] i follow wayyy too many artists but they're all so talented and they make such pretty art it's so 🥺 oh do you mean ur timeline isn't organised by latest posts first? if it's not, i can share how to make it that way!
yeah the resistance... :(( mhm! i was rly counting on a morally grey kokomi !!! LMFOAOO THE "canon (derogatory)" took me OUT PWAHAHA (i may reuse that quote ;D) that idea was mostly based on ayaka's last sentence (was it in the 2.0 archon quest?) where she said smth along the lines of the resistance having ulterior motives... and also how baal and co. defeated orobashi, the god they worship (like maybe kokomi was out for revenge?) but no sigh she's ur average good person :( idrc either way but i rly wanna see a morally grey female character where they appear good but are actually super dodgy and evil, that would be chef's kiss. but yeah, after that quest, she's definitely gonna be purely good :')
#ngl i actually rly love reading ur long msgs (and long msgs in general!)#it kinda reminds me of when i used to write penpal letters :<#and they way u sign off aw it's so cute and rly adds to the penpal-like experience LOL#btw sorry for the late response !#phi rambles#answered
